The New Jackassery Flickr Group

Some of you may recall me recently creating a Jackassery Photo Group on Flickr. I have finally gotten around to incorporating it into the site, as you most likely have already noticed. If you're not already a member of the group, and if you haven't done so already, just sign up to Flickr (it's free) and let me know what your username is. I'll invite you to the group.

Then, once you post photos to your account (I like to use Firefox plugin Fotofox since you can do drag-and-drop uploading), all you have to do is click on the "Send to Group" icon above each photo to add it to the pool. The 7 most recent pics will automatically show up on the top bar on the font page.

I created this after I realized that sometimes some of us want to post a bunch of pics from, say, an event instead of adding just one cool one to the Jackassery Photo Gallery. This way, you can upload them all to Flickr, add them to the Jackassery group, and they all show up here one way or another.

Just one more way your Jackassery Management Team is working for you.

The upgrades keep coming! In the past couple days, I've added the ability to click anywhere within the "Latest Entries" box to go to the item (as opposed to only the link). I'd always meant to do this but it hit home when Heather was audibly annoyed that she couldn't click once the box turned black. So now you can.

I've also added the blown-up tooltip to the Random Photo box so that it behaves more like the Flickr bar at the top.

I also plan to (finally) fix the issue with new news items, quotes, and photos not having time information attached to them and thus not showing up in the correct place in the Latest Entries box. That should happen in the next few days.

So while I'm on a roll, anyone have any other feature requests/bug fixes?

Speaking of Fatty and his crank obsession, he should read this blog posting about locker room nudity by a friend of mine. He runs this blog about "General Rules for Behavior" and doesn't post to it often... but he just so happens to have one for reigning in Fatty and his European cohorts.

Bone - If you have the crank - BRING IT! I know you don't, we have all seen the pictures, ok maybe three of us have. Maybe coming soon to Flickr - Bone's Crank! I don't even know what has happend to that photo - I think Roche still has it.

Ross - Kudos to you. This is a super sweet upgrade and vastly improves the site. I love me some flicker too. I am adding photos now if you have not noticed already. I might have to get the pro account. Sweet!
